3D FILE DETAILS (Version 2.0 Dowels) **************************************
There are 1/2" dowel slots (for 1/2" wooden dowels) that are 4 inches long to help align each piece during gluing and provide additional structural stiffness and support. Alternatively, you can 3D print these dowels with the files provided. Please print the dowels flat horizontally for the most strength and durability. The dowel should be printed at 0.2mm layer height, 0.1mm preferred, PLA+ material or other strong material (regular PLA is likely too weak), and print with 100% infill.
There are 1/8" dowel slots (for 3mm or 1/8" wooden dowels) that are 1 inch long to help align each piece during gluing. Alternatively, you can 3D print these dowels with the files provided. Please print the dowels flat horizontally for the most strength and durability. The dowel should be printed at 0.2mm layer height, 0.1mm preferred, PLA+ material or other strong material (regular PLA is likely too weak), and print with 100% infill.
3D PRINTING RECOMMENDATIONS ************************************** I recommend printing the parts with three perimeter walls, 10% gyroid infill, at 0.2mm layer height. I also recommend using PLA+ filament as it is much stronger than PLA filament and requires less material to develop strength.
CONTACT AND MISCELLANEOUS *********************************** I did my best to position the seams to be hidden easily or easily sandable. I also positioned the slices to allow for preservation of the fine model details when you 3D print the pieces.
